TRADITIONAL FAMILY BUILDERS (7%)
Traditional Family Builders are more women than men, they are more likely to be married, to live in urban environment, to have mid-high income and mid-high education.
For Traditional Family Builders, their family is the biggest source of happiness. The family is the place where they have their biggest achievements and also play the role of a refuge against the environmental “aggressions”: work, prices increase, poverty, social relations. This is why they spend most of their free time together with the family members – eating together, playing with children or paying visits to relatives.
The family approach is rather traditional: there is a clear-cut between the wife and husband roles in the family. Wife is a real housewife – very proud to keep the home and the family members as clean as possible. She is also in charge with doing all the chores in home while still having a paid job. Husband works hard to provide the necessary resources for the family, but also take care of home repairs and other “masculine” stuff (like car maintenance, erecting something in the garden, etc.).
Traditional Family Builders are driven by values like respect for the elders, morality and honesty. Leaving something behind them, like as successful and prosperous children, is their ultimate goal in life.
Stability in life is a purpose by itself and is reflected in their overall behaviour: they avoid changing their jobs, moving from one place to other, changing something important in their life.
The work is still an important issue for them. They work with honesty and try to do their job right, but only seldom they happen to work overtime. They are looking for respect at work and are more interested in enjoying their work than making money.
Traditional Family Builders like to know what happens around them – therefore read regularly newspapers and magazines. They consider that education will eventually pay-off in life, therefore are very careful with their children education.
