CROSS TIMERS (12%)

Cross Timers are more men than women, are more likely to have low income, to be low educated and to live in rural environment.

Cross Timers are persons living out of history, concerned mainly with issues from their immediate environment: repairing something in the home, discussing with their neighbours, reusing things, looking at their children growing-up, dreaming for a prosperous and calm life.

They do not get very involved in the family, although they respect the family as institution and have a rather modern approach of the familial relations.

Cross Timers avoid creativity and adventure and are not curious persons. They are faraway from temptations like career achievements and leadership. Their life philosophy is based on values like safety, health and peaceful happiness.

Cross timers want that everything in their household to be well done and organized. They work hard (many times more than 10 hours a day) to assure their household “prosperity”, dreaming to a period when they won't have to work anymore.

These persons feel close to nature and act in consequence. For instance, they do not spend very much time in learning new things but rather doing all kind of activities in the natural environment: gardening, doing small jobs around the home, field working.

Cross Timers express a moderate optimism regarding the future, although their living standard experienced in the last years deterioration. They succeeded quite well to cope with the fast changes by using a very original method: ignoring everything that happens around them and focusing on their small day-to-day activities. God seems to be the only stable reference in their life.
